Coolum kite festival - September

15 minutes south of Noosa, is the Coolum kite festival held in September each year.

Founded in 2000 and still going strong! The 2007 Coolum Kite Festival is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever.

The Coolum Kite Festival showcases some of the best kite flyers from around the world.

Kites of all shapes and sizes are on display including some massive character and theme based kites.

The 2007 Coolum Kite festival will also showcase Kite Surfers from around Australia competing in the competitive waves of Coolum Beach.

Displays from parachute and aircraft fly-bys are also a regular inclusion, as is a huge cultural arts component and a popular music festival that simmers in the moonlight over Stumers Creek.
