The Noosa Long weekend was started by playwright David Williamson and his wife Kristin along with friends.

They wanted to create a Noosa event that would put it at the forefront of cultural excellence. That it has done.

The Noosa festival is all culture, It celebrates the diversity of arts, food, opera, drama, film and fashion.

The Noosa long weekend also attracts thought leaders and authors to challenge one and other in debate.

The Noosa long weekend festival spans 10 days and 10 nights mid June at a time when Noosa weather would have to be the best in the world at any time of any year.

Visitors mix with the most talented actors, authors, playwrights, directors, speakers and artists from around the world who descend on Noosa’s many restaurants, galleries and public spaces throughout the Noosa festival.

The likes of Jack Thompson, Thomas Keneally, Bryan Brown, Robin Nevin, Marina Prior, Michael Leunig and Peter Carey have all attended in previous years.
